We are delighted to represent our client, a New Zealand-owned and operated consultancy that provides a range of geotechnical, geological, environmental, civil, and water resource services throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Basin with offices in the North and South island.

Based in Addington, your hours would be Monday - Friday with normal office hours. You will have previous experience working in an office role and have previous exposure to accounts.

This role requires someone who understands accounts but is also an office all-rounder who can answer the phones and greet customers This role will be busy, especially towards the end of the month. The company culture is second to none and their staff turnover is very low so they know how to look after their staff. You'll need to have the right attitude and a good sense of humor to be right for this role! As Accounts and Administration Assistant, some of your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Enters accounts payable invoices into the accounting system and undertakes debt collection
  • Assist with managing outlook inboxes for accounts and invoicing
  • Responds to accounts payable queries and undertakes monthly invoicing
  • Provides proactive accounting system support to Project Managers and other users
  • Carries out other miscellaneous accounting functions as needed
  • Assist with the formatting of letters and reports, collate documents, create PDF’s, photocopy, and bind
  • Provides general admin support to Discipline teams
  • Assist with NetSuite project setup or project maintenance as required
  • Assist with Quality Assurance – undertakes file and library audits, monitors compliance with company procedures and processes
  • Assist with managing Postmaster emails
  • Acts a back-up for reception, greet clients by getting them to sign in, provide them hospitality and deal with enquiries, mail distribution, arranging couriers, maintaining kitchen area, catering, stationery ordering, plant watering.
  • Assist with maintaining a tidy office including meeting rooms, reception, and library

As our ideal candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Previous exposure to accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong grammar, oral, and written skills
  • Great customer service skills
  • Previous administration experience
  • Sense of humor and doesn't take life too seriously
  • Having previously worked with Netsuite, MFiles and Teams would be an advantage
  • As this is a permanent role, those only with NZ Citizenship or permanent residency will be considered for this role
