From frontline reception, to client management, general administration, payroll and tax administration, the position takes on complexity and ensures continual workflow. Let’s explore what the Administration and Accounts Clerk does a little further:
  • Manages payroll and tax administration for the Company, manages IRD/tax administration and Companies Office processes
  • Takes care of all general administrative functions to support the business and Accountants
  • Keeps a step ahead, to ensure the office runs efficiently
  • Engages with clients, is the first point of communication and assistance
  • Manages inward and outward correspondence
  • Carries out Trust Account administration, client invoicing, payroll, debtors and creditors
  • Website maintenance, and more.

Whilst some learning will occur on the job, there are some essential skills and characteristics required to be successful in this role:
  • The ability to form meaningful working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Experience using Xero or similar accounting packages would be an advantage, however full training can be provided
  • Knowledge of taxation and employment/payroll (Holidays Act) legislation and processes is helpful, but not essential
  • General accounts experience including tax, debtors and creditors
  • 2-3 Years administration experience

This role is a permanent, full-time position and is ideally suited as an entry level position, or for someone wanting to build on some prior experience. There is scope within this role for the right person to transition into an Accounting role.
