Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are looking for our first Business Analyst to join the National Operations team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa. Sitting within Corrections Services, our team are part of the operational arm of the Department, made up of all service delivery positions.

As the Business Analyst, you will work closely to support the Business Manager to facilitate identification of business needs, reviewing functional requirements with key stakeholders and helping to design/improve processes and IT deliverables that will result in change. Using your well-developed analytical and communication skills, you will ensure the necessary business requirements gathered are translated and articulated into clear technical and business process solutions. You will also be involved and support a variety of other business as usual activities related to our main systems and contributing to continuous improvement.

We want to hear from proven analytical and critical thinkers with an interest in undertaking business systems and process analysis in a large and complex business environment. You will demonstrate in your application some experience of working in a contact centre and/or IT or business solution design environment, responsible for gathering, analysing and presenting qualitative and quantitative information. Naturally solutions-focussed you are quick to recognise key business challenges and opportunities, and you are proactive in delivering robust strategies to drive performance improvement. Finally, strong report writing ability coupled with knowledge of government and public policy processes will round off your profile!

There is a requirement for the Business Analyst in this team to be flexible around working in both Upper Hutt and Wellington CBD. Applicants must hold a full (clean) driver’s licence to travel. Permanent full time role, $75,829 - $107,052 dependent on demonstrable skills & experience
