We have a fantastic opportunity for a savvy Community Relations coordinator who is looking to launch their career and make a positive difference for our community.

This role is currently fixed term until August 2022.

You will join our professional and hardworking Community Relations team and become an important member, that is highly regarded throughout Council, the sector and the region. Our busy team works on a variety of projects and activities that have a positive impact on the future of Tauranga.

You will be involved in a wide range of communications and engagement mahi (work) including producing media advisories and responses, adverts (print and radio), posters and brochures, social media and website content. You will assist with media and social media monitoring, events, and contribute to the development and delivery of internal communications.

The successful individual will have a degree or diploma in communications, journalism or public relations, including proven experience in relevant software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) and an understanding and interest in social media and online publications.

You will have sound organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks and initiatives from conception to completion, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be flexible, adaptable and results oriented with a strong customer focus and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
