About Us

Pact is a major provider of community, vocational and residential based mental health, AoD and intellectual disability services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island. Our team of passionate staff journey alongside individuals to support them in setting and achieving their goals.

Our Crisis Respite service provides support for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The clients residing at this service have each been assessed and referred to Pact, because their needs can be managed without an admission to the inpatient service or the client is on the path of transitioning from inpatient back to the community.

The service provides a safe and positive home environment in Lower Hutt that helps our clients to maintain their independence and work towards recovery while being supported by a team of clinicians and support workers on site.

The Role

We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant and non-judgemental. Further you will need excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate resilience, integrity and professionalism.

Your role will include promoting the well-being of clients, maintaining a therapeutic environment, supporting movement back to their community and liaising with clinical providers.

Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the mental health field and experience of working with child and youth clients will be an advantage.

A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is desirable but not essential. Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.

This is a part time position, working 27 hours per week.

As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening andweekend,shifts.and sleepover shifts.

  • A full driver’s licence and computer skills are essential.
  • If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
  • If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Lower Hutt
