Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is one of New Zealand’s largest not-for-profit organisations in the social services and health sectors and the parent brand for some of New Zealand’s best-known support services - Shine, Family Works Northern, Lifeline, and Enliven. As an Incorporated Charitable Trust, we employ over 1,000 people across our organisation who help deliver our community, social, health and disability services and support to some of our most vulnerable people.

For over 130 years Family Works Northern has worked alongside vulnerable and at-risk families from Te Tai Tokerau through to the Bay of Plenty. Family Works has been the champion for children providing professional counselling and social work in communities and schools and delivering programmes that bring about lasting change.
We are looking for someone to commence as soon as possible!

To be successful in this role we need to know you:
  • Are familiar with strength-based practice principles
  • Are competent in counselling theories
  • Are competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
  • Are able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
  • Experienced in working individually with children, with families, and in group settings
  • Enjoy group facilitation
  • Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team
  • Show exemplary professional practice
  • Have outstanding communication and people skills
  • Have excellent family support, assessment and counselling abilities.
  • Are registered or eligible for registration with NZAC
