Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for a Farm Manager to head up our team of five at Tram Road Dairy Unit, located 10 minutes south of Westport.

If you’re passionate about pasture management and feeding and you have a drive to continually develop the knowledge and skills of your team members, this is the role for you. In addition, we’re looking for someone with proven coaching and people leadership skills and good risk management / awareness.

You’ll work closely with a supportive business manager with in-depth local knowledge to help you get the best out of the farm. Your skill in monitoring performance, managing the budget, and planning day-to-day activities on-farm will be the key to success in this role. We also have specialist advisory support in our Wellington office for agronomy, environmental requirements, and animal welfare that you can draw on.

Tram Road Dairy is part of our Cape Foulwind complex of farms. It’s a 450 ha property and milks 850 cows through a 60 bail rotary with ACR’s, Milk hub and an in-shed feeding system. Tram is a unique dairy farm due to its undulating terrain with sandy soils and significant amount of QE2 and DOC reserves within its boundary. Recreational activities abound, both inside and outside the farm boundary.

A 3-bedroom house is available with this role. The house is close to the school bus stop and the location allows easy access to a wide range of recreational activities. This role comes with a comprehensive salary package which includes life and health insurance and additional benefits. Pāmu is proud to offer development and training as well as provide employees with a good work-life balance.

For more details about the role, please phone Jack Raharuhi – Operations Manager on 027 838 7295.
