If you have strong pasture management skills, are tech-savvy and would like to take a step into leadership, we’ve got a Production Manager/2IC role here at Endeavour Dairy Unit in Taupo that you should consider. Endeavour is 800 hectares of recently converted pumice soils, with excellent facilities (60 bale rotary shed with meal feeders and milk hub). We are currently running a split calving system but are changing to an all-Autumn calving system (1750 cows). This is an exciting venture for Endeavour and an awesome time to join the team to be a part of it. This is no ordinary farm, and we are looking for an extraordinary person to help us drive production and efficiency on-farm. We have a good team environment where we all help each other throughout the day. There are three teams of three that operate on the farm, and a transparent work plan which means that you will always know what is happening on the farm and what you and your team need to do. New starters have a “buddy” on their team to help them settle in and provide any training needed to get them up to speed. The position will suit someone who’s tech savvy and is able to adapt to a unique way of feeding through herd homes and crops through winter months. Working alongside the long-term Farm Manager, you’ll manage and develop a team of eight (perm and casuals) daily, planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance, and feeding out.?Your ability to confidently delegate work and monitor results while working alongside the team is a particularly important aspect of the role, as is your ability to relate to and work with a diverse team. You’ll enjoy supporting and training others, passing along your technical knowledge and developing your skills by working closely with the manager. We run a 6/3 roster through the summer months and a 6/2 roster through the winter months so that you can have good work-life balance. We are looking for reliable, proactive candidates who observe the highest standards of health and safety as well as animal welfare. You will need a restricted or full driver’s license for this role. We offer a competitive salary and provide other benefits that come with the role such as health insurance and life insurance, just to name a few. The position comes with a three-bedroom home that is fully insulated with an internal garage and outside woodshed. School buses are available at the gate and there are plenty of recreational activities located nearby. Feel free to contact Ian Nelson (Farm Manager) at ********** We’ll be contacting qualified candidates as they come in and will close the role if we are able to find the right fit so don’t hesitate to get your details through.
