Te Tari Pūhanga Tukanga Matū| Department of Chemical and Process Engineering
  • Part-Time at 20 hours per week (0.53 FTE) (Flexibility around timing)
  • Continuing (i.e. permanent) position
What You Will DoAs Department Administrator you will effectively administer the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering and provide efficient and professional administrative support to the Academic and the Administrative teams. You will provide frontline services, welcoming visitors and ensure up to date information is communicated through a variety of media as well as liaising with the community and other networks regarding events, seminars, and functions.

Who You Are

As an experienced administrator (minimum 5+ years), with a background in a business or education-related environment (preferably in a large organisation) you will have:
  • Competence in all Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Competence in use of electronic mail programmes (e.g. Microsoft Outlook)
  • Knowledge of and experience using and managing database systems and internet research techniques
  • Ability to plan, develop and maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems
  • Knowledge of meeting and minute taking protocols
  • Experience in organising functions and other events.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will be a natural communicator with excellent written and oral skills. With organisation as your strong point, you will have the ability to cope with competing demands, plan, and prioritise workflow effectively whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and maintaining confidentiality.
