Te Whiwhinga a mahi | The opportunity

We are currently looking for a Structures Engineer to join our team based in Blenheim in a permanent full time opportunity. In this role you will responsible for working within an engineering team to develop and deliver design solutions, using a systems engineering design philosophy, in accordance with the level and scope of Engineering Authority delegated to you.

Specifically you will:

  • Undertake Technical Information Review and Continued Airworthiness Approval
  • Develop, review and manage Engineering tasks within your scope, including but not limited to advice, investigations, repairs, structural integrity reporting and modifications
  • Develop and approve engineering advice and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness in accordance with the level and scope of delegated Engineering Authority
  • Maintain data files, engineering records and electronic databases as required to accurately report and record engineering decisions
  • Actively participate in the improvement of the Design Assurance System

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. The skills and experience best suited to this role:

  • Professional experience working in relevant engineering field as a practicing junior engineer in the aviation industry
  • Knowledge of airframe structural principles including, static and fatigue analysis methods, materials and manufacturing processes, and through-life airframe sustainment, with an awareness of the commercial aspects
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CAANZ,CASA, etc.), standards and best practices
  • Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent
