Are you frustrated in your current security role and want a supportive culture and resources to build powerful cyber security capabilities?

Theta’s Cyber Security Practice develops leading-edge and innovative solutions to defend New Zealand businesses from cyber threats. We are looking for an intermediate-level Internal Cyber Security Analyst to help take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our internal information security at Theta, but also to be a contributor to our operational output, research and consultancy services.

You will get the opportunity to work with thought-leaders and specialists who challenge the legacy cyber security narrative. You will need to bring fresh ideas and be exposed to a wide range of technologies, a fast-paced environment with excellent room to develop and grow.

If you get a kick out of constantly improving and automating security then this could be for you. We want to hear your ideas and are interested to know what you can bring to the team - it could be a unique technical specialisation, a new security product concept or some "coal-face" experiences with cyber threats. Diversity in our team makes us stronger and more useful to our clients.

We like people who:

  • Have a passion for security that doesn’t stop when they leave the office
  • Understand how to run a vulnerability management program
  • Are able to use and enrich large sets of security data to continuously improve
  • Self starters who can work independently within a busy environment
  • Have an API-first approach to integrations
  • Possess a knack for identifying issues and providing smart solutions

A successful candidate will have a few years of relevant experience in:

  • Understanding and automating security solutions across network, data, application and cloud environments
  • Windows (server & desktop) and *nix operating systems
  • Security policy development
  • Implementing, maintaining or auditing an ISO 27001 or other GRC security framework is essential
  • Microsoft related technologies such as Office 365, Sentinel, InTune and Azure Security Centre
  • Familiarity with audit and monitoring tools or centralised logging systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience presenting to senior management and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Natural talent for creating and sustaining momentum for change activities

We are on the hunt for passionate people and are interested in building a great team working together to deliver exceptional outcomes.
