About The Role

ANZ’s Central Platforms team is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Bank’s operational infrastructure for the mainframe environment, thereby ensuring IAAS operationally meets its Business Service Delivery targets and maintains stability and availability of all services managed within the Platform environment. The team is also responsible for managing our vendor ensuring that they delivery value and quality for all mainframe and mainframe related projects within the bank.

As part of the role you will be responsible for-
  • Resolution of Incident, Problem, Change and Work/Service requests within SLA targets
  • Ensuring currency, performance and compliance of Mainframe environments
  • Mainframe System Administration / Configuration including;
  • Software Installation
  • System and Application Builds
  • Software Package testing
  • Security Management
  • Daily health checks
  • Implementation and Tuning of systems
  • Contribution to the completion of specific programs and/or projects, as requested, representing the team in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Proactively promoting re-factoring of infrastructure design, reduction of unnecessary complexity and use of consistent patterns of design
  • Ensuring system design and technologies utilised are implemented to meet requirements of performance and availability
    • Provision of and/or contribution to identification of technical solutions to address a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practical, and consistent with the Banks

About You.

As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for mentoring, leading and creating IT infrastructure design and development across Central Platforms business unit and by identifying and advising available solutions around emerging technologies.

To be successful in the role you will have experience in the following-
  • Z/OS,JES2, CICS, MQ, Websphere, Mainview, Netview, RACF, EMC, ZSecure, Control M, Connect Direct
  • Mainframe platforms technologies (eg Z/OS, RACF, MQ, CICS, Mainview, Netview)
  • HCM control monitoring expertise
  • Extensive technology experience in infrastructure upgrade and support gained whilst working as a Senior/Lead Systems Engineer or equivalent in large scale/complex technology environment
  • Specialised skills as subject matter expert and broad skills & understanding of multiple infrastructure platforms gained through significant experience
  • Ability to take a leadership role and work in teams in a senior capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
