Your Impact

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Papakura facility. In this role you will resolve technical/engineering issues within the manufacturing business unit. Additionally, you will provide technical/engineering support to the manufacturing reliability team as well as drive the technical/engineering continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with the Maintenance teams as well as contractors, Manufacturing Managers and Production Schedulers to review production downtime and identify key systemic issues within the production lines
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant within the manufacturing business unit and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained
  • Liaising with National Engineering to manage reliability outcomes for all capital projects within the manufacturing business unit
  • Assist with planning and co-ordination of major refit activities
  • Coaching other Maintenance staff in best practice maintenance methodologies
  • Improve organisation effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to improve productivity and drive a performance culture

About you

  • Mechanical or Electrical trade and/or Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering
  • Similar experience in an Engineering / Maintenance environment
  • Some experience in FMCG/Food manufacturing desirable
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Strong team management skills
