For a natural born organiser with great attention to detail to bring your experience and enthusiasm to support our council and other governance meetings and processes. Flexibility, teamwork, a commitment to tikanga Māori and good technical skills are key to navigating this essential support role.

You’ll be providing meeting and administrative support, such as agenda and document preparation, meeting logistics (including managing livestreaming and online meetings), minute-taking and other general administration, such as enquiries, purchase orders, correspondence and maintaining records.

You’ll have a ‘can do’ attitude, be confident in communicating with a wide range of people across the council and the community, and be willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in!

Are you up for the challenge?

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an administrative role, ideally with knowledge of local government standing orders and meeting protocols
  • A good understanding of Te Ao Māori and tikanga, and how it applies to support meetings and engagement with tāngata whenua
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, plan and manage work processes involving multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines
  • Computer and technology literate, adept in the use of Office 365, running online meetings and livestreaming
  • A strong customer focus, excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to keep calm and professional when under pressure
  • A flexible and cooperative attitude with a willingness to get the job done.
