We are based across the Bay of Plenty region as part of the BoP Construction Team with a range of projects including road safety upgrades, pavement rehabs, civil drainage, earth works and cycle/pedestrian pathways. We require an experienced Minor Construction Foreperson to help us deliver to these assignments by engaging leadership skills and autonomous problem solving skills.

About The Job

You will lead your crew to carry out minor construction and repairs on a day to day basis across drainage, roading, kerbing, footpath and asphalt activities. You will be responsible for:
  • In delivering projects, achieving daily and weekly production targets by motivating and directing your crew.
  • Monitoring your work sites to ensure compliance and producing accurate reports and documentation.
  • Ensuring efficient and safe use of materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Effective communication and positive relationship management with clients, team members and the general public.
  • Facilitating the professional development of crew members so as growth facilitates more change, you become a Supervisor to the crew you have mentored
  • Operating specialist plant as required
This could also be a great role for some who is an experienced Driver Operator or Leading hand with a range of civil experience that is looking to take that next step.

About You

You will be a team player with an organized and systematic approach to the working environment. You will also have the following experience:
  • Practical experience in the civil contracting industry
  • Past experience in drain laying, road and carpark construction, placing concrete and minor earthworks
  • Problem solving, managing unexpected events and decision making
  • Leading a team to meet deadlines and maintain safety standards
  • Hold a Full NZ Class 1 and 2 licence with WTR endorsements
