Policy Analyst

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and upcoming Policy Analyst. In this role you will be contributing to a range of projects that support people in the community with mental health and addiction.

As this is an entry-mid level role, we are also inviting applicants who may not have experience as a Policy Analyst but have provable experience in project management, analysis of data and preparation of reports.

This role is working for a small organisation who do fantastic work for the local community and you will be reporting into and working closely with a passionate and motivated Chief Executive

In this full time and permanent role, you will find yourself based in great new offices in Te Aro working with a small and passionate team

This role will encompass a range of tasks including:

• Policy analysis and advice including development and submissions
• Interacting with government departments and agencies including the Ministry of Health
• Researching information and providing timely submissions
• Convey complex policy issues in a clear and effective manner
• Gather, collate information, data and evidence to help support submissions
• Represent the organisation in national group forums
• Identify key issues related to mental health and provide effective and sound solutions

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will:

• Have 1-2 years’ experience in Policy Analysis
• Demonstrable experience in the preparation of submissions or reports
• Experience in dealing with external and internal stakeholders including actioning requests for information
• Have exceptional time management, organisation and file management
• Be naturally friendly, approachable and adaptable
• Great research skills
• An exemplary communicator
• Strong and authentic relationship management experience
