SVS Veterinary Supplies is a well-known and major wholesaler within the New Zealand Veterinary Market. We are a 100% Kiwi owned and operated family business with three branches nationwide. The company has built a loyal customer base due to its strong focus on partnerships and delivering high value adding solutions to its customers.

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to support the supply chain and logistics functions for the company. Your focus will be to drive efficiency and productivity ensuring streamlined purchasing/procurement, logistics & warehousing operations.

Reporting to the Project Manager, this new role based in Hamilton, plays a critical part in managing effective relationships with suppliers and contributing to our supply offer to our customers to ensure we have the right products, in the right places, at the right time. You will be able to work under pressure to make things happen, show great initiative and be forward thinking.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating the stock levels for all three distribution centres.

- Ordering products from multiple suppliers within your designated portfolio.

- Proactively load and maintain products and pricing into our ERP software system ensuring customer orders are met.

- Assisting with ensuring that all product descriptions are up to date and sales notes are visible.

- Develop a rapport with suppliers to ensure timely delivery dates and lead time compliance.

- Assisting with the management of supplier cost discrepancies and processing supplier credits, as well as supporting supplier rebates reconciliation and reports as required.

- Coordinate with other teams to ensure stock preparedness for promotions or special offers.

- Prepare reports and analysis on supply chain activities to meet business reporting deadlines.

- Maintain robust forecasting system to ensure continuity of supply for both production and finished good requirements.

- Assisting with the monitoring and reporting on supplier usage and performance.

- Sourcing products, as well as pricing and availability of non-stock lines.

- Be a champion user of the internal system and product support for other SVS teams.

- Maintaining strong communications both internally and externally whilst adhering to the company’s values.

- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

What you will bring to the role:

To be successful, you will be energetic and driven with plenty of initiative, a clear and strong communicator with high attention to detail to be able to work in a team, identifying and solving problems to ensure customer expectations are met. You will have proven Microsoft Office Excel skills and the ability using computerised inventory systems. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in supply chain, logistics or a procurement role in New Zealand with experience in costing, margins and other mathematical calculations with strong analytical skills. In addition, you will have the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks, with exceptional coordination and administration skills, a professional friendly phone manner with a customer service orientation.
