  • Whangarei, Northland. Full-time, Permanent. Regional Relationship Manager – Maori. Lead the work in accreditation and compliance with all for the protection of kauri. Work in a co-leadership and co design way with Maori for kauri protection incorporating Maori cultural frameworks and Maori best practice approaches. Embed in agencies and others, accreditation processes (local government, government, and Community groups) and develop and support delivery of compliance of the National Pest Management Plan. Providing expert advice on kauri protection ensure mana whenua are able to fulfil kaitiaki of kauri. Salary is between $92,000 to $124,000 depending on skills and experience. Job.   • About the Role. The Regional Relationship Manager, Maori is responsible for the delivery and implementation of strategic and tactical advice, and services, that empower and improve Maori leadership of kauri protection.. You will play an integral role in Kauri Protection by actively developing systems and processes which support delivery by Maori. Specifically supporting iwi/hapu /whanau directly or with others delivering work in the kauri space.. Te Tiriti o Waitangi underpins all the work we do.. You will, be involved in regional collaborations, you will also bring your nouse in contributing to the development of models, of partnership and to improve and ensure greater collaboration across sectors..   • About You. You will have a solid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, applying Te Tiriti articles across all levels of engagement, giving sound advice that lends a genuine Maori view of the work we are involved in.. You will be highly proficient in Te Reo and tikanga and have the credibility to work successfully at all levels from senior executive to matauranga in the forest. Proven ability to take a strategic, proactive approach with a broad range of external and internal partners and stakeholders to shape relationships which benefit Maori building capability and capacity. Proven ability to identify and understand the needs of those working in kauri protection and adapt style and language to meet them.. Strong demonstrated ability to develop, preserve and strengthen partnerships with whanau, hapu, iwi and Maori communities and the work they lead with others in kauri protection..   • About the Team. The Kauri Protection team is newly formed to deliver kauri protection through the National Pest Management Plan (NPMP) for phytophthora agathidicida (previously referred to as kauri dieback). The team’s purpose is to build collaboration and lead kauri protection and consists of science, business and operations functions. This position is one of nine team members and is regionally located and focused on designing and implementing standardisation and consistency across the people who deliver kauri protection on the ground. Basically, bringing to life the new NPMP and the strength it brings to kauri protection through regulation and awareness and the leadership of Maori as kaitiaki.. The team seeks to be a strong example of Maori and Crown working together for kauri.. The team is distributed with members based in kauri lands and Wellington This position is based in Whangarei..
