Who we are

The Department of Surgical Sciences, located at Dunedin Hospital, is a major teaching and research department within the Dunedin School of Medicine. The Neurosurgery Section is one of nine sections within the Department of Surgical Sciences. We excel in clinical teaching and training, linking science with clinical research, and developing our discipline nationally and internationally.

The role

A great opportunity exists to join and support our Brai3n: Brain Research Centre for Advanced, Innovative and Interdisciplinary Neuromodulation team as a Research Administrator. In this role you will support our team of neurosurgeons who collaborate with other researchers worldwide, via the Brai3n network. You will provide administrative oversight for all the research programmes within the Neurosurgery Unit.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role you must have excellent administration, meeting and data management skills, with experience managing several projects at any one time.

You will also have:

  • A high degree of organisational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • The ability to work systematically with accuracy to meet deadlines.

You should also be comfortable dealing with members of the public and clinicians.

Knowledge of the research environment is desirable.

Further details

This is a permanent, part-time position (18.75 hours per week).
