Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Village Ltd operates a range of accommodation and tourism businesses in the most iconic destination in New Zealand – Aoraki Mt Cook National Park. These include The Hermitage Hotel, Mt Cook Lodge & Motels, Glacier Explorers, Big Sky Stargazing, Tasman Valley 4WD and the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.

We are looking for a Sales guru to lead our team in telling the world about Aoraki Mt Cook.

As our Sales Manager you will develop and implement sales strategies for the hotel. Reporting to The Hermitage Hotel General Manager, you will grow the businesses through outstanding execution of promotions and sales.

The key focus for this role will be:

  • Develop campaigns across multiple channels (direct, retail and wholesale) to expand the market share and pursue growth for all products
  • Utilise customer insights and data to develop and implement the sales strategy for AMCAVL’s brands
  • Foster long lasting relationships with both current and new partners through strategic communication planning.
  • Lead the reservations team to develop solid reservations processes to best service each of the markets through establishing an innovative structure, recruiting the right talent, and providing the resources required to best service all who make contact with the team through each of the available channels.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will be a senior sales manager with at least 5 years’ experience in digital and traditional sales roles.

  • You will be a natural and exceptional communicator and be ready to make sure all internal stakeholders, from management to frontline staff, are aligned with sales strategies and campaigns.
  • A strong background in hotels and/or outdoor activities and their distribution channels including demonstrating the ability to recognise and adapt sales strategies to capturing current markets available. A broad understanding of inbound, MICE and direct business is a must.
  • You will need to demonstrate an ability to quickly understand a complex product set
  • You will have an exceptional network of industry connections and demonstrate the ability to quickly connect with key industry stakeholders
  • A passion for our products and respect for the unique landscape environment the businesses operate in is a pre-requisite.
