Rangiora-based MainPower New Zealand Limited owns and operates the electricity distribution network across the North Canterbury region.


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Scheduler to join our Rangiora team. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling of our resources across multiple skill types. Using our scheduling software to ensure effective utilisation and visibility of our resources, workload and capacity to deliver great project and customer service outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent organisation and planning skills and will work closely with a range of stakeholders to gather information, requirements, and schedule resources accordingly. You will have exceptional communication skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have the drive and ability to maintain and develop our scheduling tools.

Ideally you will have:

  • Proven experience in the electrical distribution industry
  • A good understanding of Network control processes
  • An electrical qualification
  • Experience with project and program reporting
  • Online scheduling tool and/or system experience, and proficiency in MS Office suite
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • An ability to communicate to business and technical teams
  • Sound judgement and an ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Absolute commitment to workplace and public safety
