Mercury generate 100% renewable energy. We own and operate nine hydroelectric generating stations on the Waikato River and five geothermal plants in the Taupo area. As Trade Assistant you’ll play an integral role in the team by supporting our teams to ensure we meet our business objectives. We ensure our generation sites are well-managed with strong health and safety policies to keep you safe.

This role has diverse responsibilities which include but are not limited to, ensuring:
  • Generation assets are maintained to meet market requirements
  • Facilities are safely maintained in accordance with our polices, practices and environmental principles
  • Routine and defect maintenance is undertaken
We Are Looking For
  • Trade exposure/relevant experience
  • Class 1 Drivers Licence, Class 2 and 4 an advantage
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights training
  • Maintenance of geothermal / hydro generation plant an advantage
This is a physical role where you will need to be physically fit to be able to carry out manual activities.

You’ll Be Working

These roles are based across our Generation sites in the Waikato/Taupo/ regions, which are typically in a radius of 40 minutes of driving. You will be required to be available to work across the different sites as rostered/assigned, which are currently across our Hydro stations with the potential to include Geothermal in the future.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment background check which will include a drug test and criminal background check .

Interviews will commence week beginning 14th June, which will be face to face in our Taupo office. These roles will start on 9th August.
