  • As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the Productivity, Efficiency, Reliability and Safety of the multi-modal transport network through pro-active optimisation and improving real-time operations of the transport network. You will use the operational insights gained from your everyday business to help shape, influence and develop the transport network strategies.
  • In this role you will carry out evidence-based traffic signals optimisation, TTMP, geometric design reviews and software development and testing. You will bring strong communication skills to collaborative with other teams, stakeholders and partners to provide solutions to mitigate the impacts of planned/un-planned events and capital construction projects on the customer journeys.
  • As a Traffic Engineer, you will assist in the technical training and development of Transport Network Operators at ATOC and support the real-time operations as rostered in managing peak hours traffic.
Reporting to our Optimisation Delivery team Leader - you will be a part of the Service Delivery team. You will bring to the role
  • Relevant Engineering Tertiary Qualification, in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Experience in traffic or transportation engineering and traffic signals design engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in SCATS or other similar traffic signals control system is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of the legislative environment regarding traffic operations would be a plus
  • Be someone who enjoys problem-solving, has a keen eye for detail and effective communication skills
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Some understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements
